Ruby Marise Wheelock

Ruby Marise (Biggerstaff) Wheelock, 91, of Gibsonburg, died August 17 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont. The widow of William L. Wheelock, who died in 1984, she is survived by daughters Barbara (Samuel) Hartloff of Costa Mesa CA and Carol (Larry) Smith of Clyde, OH; a sister Bonnie (Howard) Webb of Denver CO; grandsons, Mitchell (Christina) Smith of Cincinnati OH; Matthew and Daniel Hartloff of Costa Mesa CA; niece Beverly Cardarelli of Thayne WY; nephew John Webb of Englewood CO, and great-granddaughter Catherine SuYe Smith of Cincinnati, OH. She is preceded in death by grandson Chad Lawrence Smith in 1989 and brother Thomas L. Biggerstaff in 1986. She was born in 1914 in Mena AK to Thomas A. and Ada Biggerstaff.

A lifelong member of the Methodist Church, she had served as president of the Faith Methodist Womens Association and also of Sorosis Womens Club. For several years she wrote feature articles for the Fremont News-Messenger. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg followed by the funeral service at 4 p.m. The Rev. Jerel Jackson will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Gibsonburg Library or Faith Methodist Church
