Ralph J. Wilhelm

Ralph J. Wilhelm, 67, of Risingsun, died Friday evening, April 28th at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born on November 10, 1938 in Sandusky, OH to the late Frank and Anna (Bork) Wilhelm Schuman. Ralph was a 1959 graduate of Jackson-Burgoon High School. On December 30, 1961 he married Rita Stanfield at Trinity Church in Gibsonburg and she survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the National Guard Reserve, serving in Vietnam as a plane pusher, mechanic/troubleshooter while in the Navy and a cook/baker in the National Guard. Ralph later worked at Kelsey Hayes as a machine operator and then in shipping & receiving. He retired from the National Guard in 1995 and from Kelsey Hayes in 2002. Ralph was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Bradner, the VFW, Cooties and S.C.R.A.P.

He is survived by a son, Randy (Becky) Wilhelm of Portage, OH; grandchildren, Trey Michael, Emily Grace & Jacob Matthew Wilhelm. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn Maurer.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 3 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Funeral service will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Bradner with Pastor John Moffett officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery at a later date.
