Robert Stanley Williams passed away November 27, 2007 at Elmwood Assisted Living, Fremont, Ohio. He was born May 11, 1916 to Inez Winzler Williams and Ernest Williams of Gibsonburg. He graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1934. Robert served in the Medical Detachment Station, as a sergeant in the Army during World War II at Fort Kamehaeha in Hawaii and was a member of the Gibsonburg American Legion for 62 years. He was a druggist at Williams Drug Store in Gibsonburg, Ohio which his father started in 1900. He and his brother, Warren retired and sold the business in 1981. Robert married Eleanor Louise Kuhnle on November 17, 1946 in Port Clinton, Ohio. They were married for 59 years. In his youth, Robert planted many trees, shrubs, and flowers and maintained the lawn for a park across from their home that his parents created. It is now named in honor of his parents, Williams Park. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Warren W. Williams and his wife, Eleanor L. Williams in 2005. Surviving is one daughter, Pamela Williams. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 from 5:30 8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg.
