Harold P Young

Harold P. Young 94, a lifelong resident of Fremont, died on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Flower Hospital in Sylvania. He was born on August 8, 1914 in Fremont to Homer T. and Bertha (Knox) Young. Harold was a 1932 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He was the owner and founder of Youngs Mobile Homes & Travel Center in Fremont. On August 8, 1940 he married Luella Bork and she preceded him in death on July 4, 2004. Harold was a member of the Kingdom Hall of the Fremont Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses where he was an elder, the Ohio Manufactured Housing Assoc., the RV Dealer Assoc. and the Great Lakes Dealer Association. He started the mobile home business in 1947 and built his first community, Colonial Acres in 1953. Harold was active in the business up to his death. Harold was an avid Ross Sports fan and Ross Boosters supporter. Surviving are children Deborah L. (Francis Butch) Sherman of Fremont and David L. (Cindy J.) Young of Marblehead; grandchildren, Tadd (Dawn) Sherman and Joel (Ruth) Sherman, LuElyne (Oscar) Contreras, Julie (Mark) Walker and Amy (Mike) Thomas; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings Norman Young, Wava Schau and Shirley Scott.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 6th from 4-8 PM & Friday, November 7 from 1-8 PM at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 1:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of the Fremont Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses, 1509 Cedar St, Fremont with Dennis and Philip Bork officiating. Burial will follow at Dana Cemetery, Green Creek Township. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fremont Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses or to Don Paul Stadium at Harmon Field/Fremont Area Athletic Foundation c/o Ross High School.
