Ward L Young

Ward Skip L. Young, 76, of Fremont, died early Thursday, July 5, 2007 at Bethesda Care Center. He was born on October 27, 1930 in Fremont to the now deceased Ward and Alpha (Fry) Young. Ward was a 1949 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and was a supervisor at Eaton Controls until retiring in 1990. On September 9, 1950 he married Nancy Deno at Grace Lutheran Church and she survives. Ward was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church and was a custodian at the church for a number of years. He enjoyed fishing, woodcarving, traveling, playing Santa Claus for many years, and cooking. Ward was known for his good sense of humor. Surviving are son, Steve (Chris) Young of Fremont, daughter, Brenda (Dan) Webb of New Richmond, OH, son, Michael Young of Sandusky; grandchildren, Nathan Young, Lydia Webb; great-grandchildren, Hannah Young and Elijah Young; and a sister, Sylvia (David) Turner of Mesa, AZ. He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Denise Louise in 1957, infant grandson, Timothy Young in 1980, brothers, Lamar Young in 1966 and Robert Young in 1926. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 8th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Pastor Paul Gruetter will officiate. Burial will follow at Faith Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Boiler Fund at Grace Lutheran Church or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), 383 Main Ave., Norwalk, CT 06851.
