Wilbur Babe Zeigler, 84 of Fremont died late Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Rutherford House. He was born on July 31, 1923 in Ashtabula to George & Emma A. (Romig) Zeigler. Babe served in the US Navy during WWII from 1944-1948 and on July 31, 1948 he married Peggy L. Wono Barger in Tiffin and she survives in Fremont. Babe worked for Norfolk & Western Railroad for over 40 years as an engineer. He was a member of the Fremont American Legion, VFW, Eagles, Masonic Temple in Bellevue and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Babe was an avid OSU fan, a member of the senior golf league at River Cliff, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont. He is survived by his wife, daughter; Stephanie (Fred) Singer, grandson; Dudley F. Singer III, all of Fremont and was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother George Zeigler, Jr. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont from 2-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Grace Lutheran Church at 10:30 AM with Pastor James Avers officiating. A committal service will be held at 1:30 PM at Strongs Ridge Cemetery, Bellevue, with military honors preformed by the Fremont American Legion and VFW Post. Memorial contributions may be made in Wilburs name to Wyandot County Humane Society, 9640 Co. Hwy. 330, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
