Helen Louise Zienta, 85, of Fremont, died on Thursday, July 23, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident. She was born on September 14, 1923 in Fremont, to John Alfred and Edith (Ottney) Jones. Helen was a 1941 graduate of Ross High School. On June 14, 1962 she married Frank Zienta and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1985. Helen was a clerk at the Woolworths Store retiring in 1984. She was a member of the former St. Casimir Catholic Church and a current member of St. Ann Catholic Community. Helen also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Secular Order of St. Francis, the Fremont Church Women United, a member of the former St. Casimir Altar/Rosary Society, the In Betweeners and the Fremont Senior Center. She enjoyed sports and reading.
Surviving is a daughter, Ellen (John) Beier of Fremont; two grandchildren, Eric of Columbus and Kevin of Fremont; sisters, Jane Weiler of Columbus and Margaret (Ken) Bullinger of Fremont; three nephews and a niece. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother in law, John Weiler.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 26th from 1-5 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services with services by the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary at 4:30 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service to follow.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at St. Anns Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Tom Extejt officiating. Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her grandchildrens education fund or a charity of the donors choice.
