Edmund Zitzelberger, 80, of Fremont, died on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Valley View Health Care Center. He was born on December 10, 1929 in Clearfield, PA to Harry P. and Nevada K. (Kennedy) Zitzelberger, Sr. Edmund was a graduate of St. Francis High School in Clearfield, PA and received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Indian University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Penn State University. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. Edmund was a teacher and a realtor, owning Zitzelberger Realtors. On April 24, 1954 he married Evelyn Hoyt at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church and she survives. He was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Elks. Edmund was a Boy Scout leader, little league coach and a Clearfield 4th Ward Fire Department lifetime member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bicycling, hiking and reading.
Surviving are children, Kim (Kerry) Wood of Fremont, Greg (Jacqueline Amor) Zitzelberger, Jackie (Phil) Carr all of Clearfield, PA and Gina (Randy) Ardery of Fremont; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles F. (Mary) Zitzelberger of Clearfield, PA also survives. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Harry P. Jr. and William B. Zitzelberger.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
