Jack R. Kiser 82 of Fremont died peacefully at his home on December 31, 2011 surrounded by his family. Jack was born on August 30, 1929 in Fremont to Sardis F. & Viola E. (Lipstraw) Kiser. He graduated from Ross High School in 1947 and also from Tri-State University in Angola, IN in1960 with a degree in electrical engineering. He served in the US Army from June of 1951 to June of 1953, where he served as a helicopter mechanic. Jack was a self employed farmer retiring in 2009. He also was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and on several softball leagues, the Grace Lutheran Church dart-ball league and was an avid bowler since 1960. Jack always enjoyed a good joke. Jack is survived by his companion of 43 years, Carol S. Crump, her children; Chuck & Chris, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, a brother; Burdette (Nettie) Kiser and sister-in-law; Pat Kiser numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Dorothy N. Kerns and brothers; Ronald & Gene Kiser. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4th from 2-8 PM at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Thursday, January 5th at 11 AM at the funeral home with Certified Celebrant Maureen Pump officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion and VFW. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandusky Township Fire Department, Heartland Hospice or to the Sandusky County Humane Society in Jack's memory.
