Dorothy M. Quaintance, 76, of Fremont, died on January 1, 2012. She was born on May 22, 1935 in Fremont to John & Edith (Heschel) Blechinger. Dorothy was a 1953, St. Joseph High School graduate. On June 19, 1954 she married James Quaintance. Dorothy worked in her home providing care to numerous children over the years. She worked at the ELC at Terra State Community College. She was a member of the Women of the Moose. Surviving is her husband, James of 57 years; children, John (Lisa) Quaintance of Elida, OH, James (Janet) Quaintance of Clyde, Joseph (Connie) Quaintance of Fremont, Lorianne (Mike) Stull of Fremont, Teresa (Chris) George of Columbus and Denice (Chris) Hirt of Fremont; brother, Loren (Marianne) Blechinger of Fremont; 17 grandchildren, Erin & Sam Quaintance, Gina Preston, Jyl Davis, Jodi Quaintance, Justin & Chris Witmer, Brian Quaintance, Nicole Weiker, April & Adam Snyder, Elizabeth, Christine & Nick George, Maggie, Mason & Merrick Hirt; and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William & Bernard Blechinger. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. A wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. officiated by Deacon Jim Hammer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont. Rev. Mike Zacharias will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bishop Hoffman Catholic School.
