Verlin "Tiny" H. Butzier died in the presence of his family Friday, January 13, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Fremont. He was 82. Born in Kansas, OH on December 27, 1929, Tiny was a son of Albert and Ruby (Zimmerman) Butzier. He attended schools in Kansas and Amsden. On May 1, 1954 he married Carol Ann Feehan at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, she survives. Tiny began his working career at Basic Inc. in Bettsville and worked for Modern Construction Company from 1950-1988 when he retired from Darr Contracting. During the 60-70's, he and Carol also owned and operated VC's Dairy Dreme and Parkside Mini Golf in Fremont. Together they enjoyed garage sales, flea markets, auctions and traveling to all the continental United States. Hawaii was next on their list. He said he was just waiting for the bridge. He was known to be a carpenter, plumber, auto mechanic, electrician, gardener, cook, collector, singer and comedian. He said he made $15 to sing, $5 to start, $10 to stop and there was never any reason to doubt his word. "Dad" is survived by Luann "Lu" (Mark) Sanders, David, Joann (Jim) Murray all of Fremont, Elaine of Woodville, Cheryl of Perrysburg and former daughter in law Brenda of Fremont. "Grandpa" is survived by Eric (Andrea) Butzier and Stacy (Rick) Pollard of Burgoon, Matt (Becky) Butzier of Fremont, Mark (Bridget) Butzier of Medina and Heidi Sanders of Dayton. "Great Grandpa" glowed when Adilyn Butzier became the little lady of his life 13 months ago. Verlin is also survived by brothers in law Bernard Feehan and Timothy (Betty) Feehan of Fostoria, sisters in law Evelyn Butzier of Bettsville, Leta Butzier of Piqua and Lucille Butzier of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Lester, Kenneth, Carl, Rosella Haubert, Ellis, Cecil and Edna Robinson. A family conducted remembrance and commemoration of his life will be Wednesday, January 18, 2012, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 900 North St., Fremont where visitation will be Tuesday from 2-5 & 6-8. Burial will be at Kansas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart or Diabetes Associations.
