Ralph Myers, 86, of Fremont, died early Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Valley View Healthcare Center. He was born on February 27, 1925 in Clyde, OH to Everett N. and Olive (Britenburg) Myers. He was a 1943 graduate of Townsend Township High School. Ralph served in the U.S. Navy during WWII patrolling the Pacific Coastline aboard the DD577 Sproston and the BB62 New Jersey. On July 28, 1951 he married Joyce Overmyer at Salem Lutheran Church (now Faith Lutheran Church) and she survives. Ralph was a supervisor with Fremont Rubber Company, Crown Rubber and at Peter Eckrich and sons retiring in 1986. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and served as a Council member many times as well as chairman several times. He also was a choir member for over 50 years and a Sunday school leader for many years. Surviving in addition to his wife, are daughter, Debra E. (David) Griffiths of Mason, OH; granddaughter, Katie Griffiths and sister, Dorothy Swedersky of Fremont. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Visitation will be on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. with visitation at church one hour prior to the service. Pastor Robert Young will officiate. Burial will follow at Four Mile House Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ralph may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
