Beverly A. (Atwater) Zimmerman 80, of Lindsey died on Friday, February 17, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 19, 1931 in Elmore, Ohio to Harold and Madeline (Lohrbach) Atwater. Beverly was a 1949 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. On October 21, 1950 she married Donald C. Zimmerman. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2009. She worked after graduation at the Ohio Power Company in Fremont for several years. In 1959 she and her husband started Don Zimmerman Contractor. Then in 1963, because of their love of square dancing, they started construction on Ole Zim's Wagon Shed which opened December 7. Bev was the main cook, preparing all the homemade food including pies and bread. She and Don owned and operated both businesses until they retired in 1990. Bev was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lindsey. She very much enjoyed the time she spent with her family and all of her friends, especially the memories at their cabin in West Branch, Michigan. They spent their time snowmobiling, dune bugging and entertaining family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting afghans, giving them to friends and donating to local organizations. Surviving are four children, Russ (Ruth) Zimmerman of Lindsey, Kathy (Tim) Arndt of Fremont, John (Jill) Zimmerman of Gibsonburg, Dave (Pam) Zimmerman of Fremont; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandchild; brother Myron "Bud" Atwater; and sisters Karen Avers, Ruth Fahle and Marjorie Schling. Visitation will be Monday, February 20, 3-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont. Services will be held on Tuesday, noon, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lindsey where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Rev. Robert Metheny will officiate the preceedings. Burial will be at Lindsey Cemetery. Contributions in Bev's memory may be directed to the Lindsey Volunteer Fire Dept or Memorial Home Health and Hospice.
