David G. Popoca, 60, of Fremont, died on Monday, March 12, 2012 at his home. He was born on December 20, 1951 in Fremont to Bernardo and Estefana (Garza) Popoca. David was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School. On July 3, 1971 he married Mary Nye in Green Springs and they later divorced. David was a member of the Victory Christian Fellowship. He enjoyed the Civil War Re-enactments and was very active locally in Tiffin, Green Springs and Fremont. He was also a model train enthusiast and enjoyed gardening, especially tomatoes and green peppers. David was a laborer for various businesses in the area. Surviving are daughters, Kristie Lynn (Brian) Tuthill of Columbus and Sarah Marie (Shane Miller) Popoca of McDonald, PA; ex-wife, Mary of Green Springs; brothers, Carlos and Bernard of Green Springs, Efrain (Martha) of New Lenox, IL; and a sister, Esther Popoca of San Diego, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Duane Dunfee officiating.
