Gibsonburg resident, Lucille "Lucy" M. Myers, 85, died Tuesday night, March 20, 2012 at the Spring Meadows Senior Community in Holland, Ohio. Born on September 13, 1926 in Genoa, Ohio, Lucille was a daughter of Leroy and Dorothy (Travis) Orth. She graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1944; and in February 1945, she married Charles H. Myers in Lindsey, Ohio. Charles preceded her in death on February 19, 1994. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she worked as a homemaker and was a very active member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg and its Womens' Society. She enjoyed spending time with family and church friends on annual Lakeside vacations. At one time, Lucille cleaned homes for school teachers and was known for her handmade nylon net scrubbers, some of which were sold in the local stores. Surviving her are her son, Russell (Linda) Myers; grandson Christopher all of Toledo; siblings Donna Hayes of Florida and John Orth of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Calvin and Dale Orth and Janette Spriggs. Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at the Faith United Methodist Church where there will be an additional hour of visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Betty Wineland will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Memorials may be made to the church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
