Alberta Brininger

Alberta May (Henry) Brininger, 77, of Fremont, died early Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Firelands Hospital, Sandusky, OH. She was born on September 22, 1934 in LaSalle, MI to Albert James and Genevieve (Holdsworth) Henry. On July 13, 1972 she married John D. Brininger and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1993. Alberta was a waitress for several local restaurants, was a switchboard operator at Memorial Hospital, worked at a Fremont telephone answering service and also at the Friendship Sunoco for seven years, retiring in 1999. Alberta enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing bingo. Surviving are: daughter, Linda (James) Voelzke of Fremont; sons, Leland (Carmen) Green of Fremont, Jack (Joyce) Green of Houston, TX, Paul (Vicki) Green of Fremont, Darrin (Betty) Brininger and Douglas Brininger of West Virginia; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; siblings, Wilbert "Bill" (Louise) Henry, Wilma Mitchell, Anna Nelson and Diana (Ted) Gressman; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Charles & James Henry; sisters, Ola Heilman, Juanita Hiller, Gloria Breese and Mary Richards. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be at 12 noon at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Falkner officiating. Burial will follow at Four Mile House Cemetery.
