Bruce M. Polter, 63 of Fremont died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Bethesda Care Center. He was born on February 3, 1949 in Fremont to John P. & Ruth (Gilbert) Polter. Bruce graduated from Ross High School in 1967. On March 15, 1969 he married Annette Haar in Grosse Point, MI and she survives in Fremont. Bruce started his career as a Tool & Die Maker at Century Tool & Die, Fremont where he received his Journeymans Card prior to working for Ford Motor Co. as a Tool & Die Maker for 30 years. After his retirement he helped with the lawn crew for Bark Creek Lawn Care and also for the Fremont City Schools. Bruce also enjoyed working at Ole Zims and spending time at Camp Runinmuck at Marblehead-Lakeside. Bruce was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Rack & Q Pool League, he was a member of the Lindsey Volunteer Fire Dept., 4-H Advisor for the Lindsey Green Clover Guys. He enjoyed collecting and restoring International Cub Cadet lawn mowers. Surviving are his children; Kevin (Kim) Polter of Boston, NY, Tim (Jenn Miller) Polter & Carey Polter all of Fremont. Also surviving are his sisters; Marian (Ken) Colvin of Clyde and Linda Barcus of Fremont, the love of his life were his seven grandchildren; Dylan, Madison, Haley, Megan, Shelby, Mason and Chase. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother; Thomas Polter. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont from 4-8PM. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky 44870 or to the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Ohio 3383 Monroe Street, Toledo, OH 43606.
