Dennis C. Younker, 67, of Gibsonburg, died May 6, 2012 at his home. He was born on November 3, 1944 in Toledo to Clarence and Marian (Harmeyer) Younker. Dennis was a graduate of Gibsonburg High School and later studied Pre-Law at Ohio Northern and Bowling Green State University. He was a painter and an insurance salesman before retiring. Dennis taught Sunday school at St. John's Lutheran Church, Williston. At heart he was an artist and poet. He enjoyed reading and writing, playing pool, biking, hiking and gardening. He was also a member of the Fremont Elks. Dennis is survived by son, Jay (Diane Simo) Younker of Toledo, and his mother, Linda Younker; daughter, Ursula (Shawn) Matthews of Chandler AZ, and her mother Vickie Warren; grandsons, Andrew and Ian Matthews; ex-wife and best friend, Mary Floro Younker; brother, Tom Younker of Gibsonburg; sister, Linda Younker of Denver, CO; and many nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held on Friday at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Williston at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sean O'Brien officiating. Burial will follow at Clay Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Birchard Public Library, Gibsonburg branch or to St. John's Lutheran Church, Williston.
