Janice Elaine Contreras

Janice "Jenny" Elaine Contreras, 62, of Fremont, left to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born on June 23, 1949 in Lawrenceburg, TN to Joseph and Betty Lou Ellis. Janice was a 1967 graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School and had attended college for one year. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a homemaker. Janice was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially the grandchildren and with her friends. Janice enjoyed cooking and dancing. Surviving are her children, Brent (Sara) Yates of Portland, OR, Toby (Lisa) Contreras and Leticia (Joe) Arguelles both of Fremont; grandchildren, Zachary, Morgan, Brady and Sofia Contreras, Kieler and Aalijah Foster, Rhys and Violet Yates; sister, Martha and half-sister, Susie; special friends, Carmen Lerma and Vicki Hoffman; and the love of her life, Elpidio Contreras Sr., they later divorced. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry Ellis. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 1-2 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A Memorial Service will follow on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in Janice's memory.
