Shirley Ann Young, 80, of Fremont passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Seasons Hospice in Denton, TX. She was born in Fremont on July 27, 1931 to the late Raymond & Magdalena (Guiss) Kingsborough. Shirley worked as a cashier at Food Town for 12 years, and then as a bank teller for 19 years at Croghan Colonial Bank. Shirley enjoyed gardening, playing games with friends and church activities. She was married on Dec. 16th 1950 to Donald B. Young and he preceded her in death on May 6th 2009. Surviving are children, Kenneth (Terry) Young of Keller, TX, Christina Mayle of Fremont, Kelvin (Jonee) Young of Asheboro, NC, and Colleen (Tom) DeLagrange of Fremont; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sibling, Kenneth Kingsborough. She is preceded in death by children, Carolyn and Jeffrey Young; siblings, Russell, Daniel and Evelyn Kingsborough. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 14th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Keith Merriman will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Chapel.
