Gibsonburg High School student, Autumn Renee Halm, 16, died Wednesday afternoon, July 4, 2012, in the emergency room at the Advocate Christ Medical Center, Chicago from injuries she sustained in an automobile accident which occurred near the Indiana and Illinois state border. Autumn was born in Toledo on July 10, 1995 to Chris Halm and Heather Osborne. As an upcoming Junior at school, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, loved singing in choir and participating in the French Club. Autumn was outgoing and desired the company of others. Known to be optimistic, she is described to have an "infectious smile" and she had personality to brighten any situation. She has written children's books and was just finishing writing a novel which she hoped to have published. Her future aspirations were to study Forensic Science and Anthropology. Left behind to cope with her loss are her parents; grandmothers, Shirley Osborne and Beatrice Halm; siblings Malana, Daisy and Summer Trautsch, Chelsea and Christopher Halm; several aunts and uncles; her good friend, Patrick Soals; and many friends and classmates. She is preceded in death by her brother, Bric. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 13, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg where visitation will be on Thursday, July 12, 2-8 p.m. Contributions in Autumn's memory by be made to any Fifth Third Bank branch where a memorial, savings account in her name has been established.
