Daisy Rearick

Former Gibsonburg resident, Daisy Rearick, died Monday afternoon, July 30, 2012 at St. Marys Mercy Medical Center in Livonia, MI. She was 91 years old. Daisy was born, raised, married and lived a long, happy and productive life in Gibsonburg. She was born on April 29, 1921 to Carl and Catharine (McInnis) Shirkey. She married Harold Rearick on Sept. 20, 1941 and together they raised their sons Richard "Dick" (Marilyn) now of Northville, MI and William "Bill" (Justina) now of St. Port Lucy, FL. Since Dec. 2007, she has lived in Waltonwood Assisted Living in Canton, MI. Daisy graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1939 and she and Harold were very active members of Faith United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg. In addition to her two sons, she is survived by four grandchildren, Mark and Jeffery Rearick, Donna Beall and Alex Rearick; six great-grandchildren Rachel, Nathan, William "Liam" and Lilliana Rearick and Justin and Luke Beall. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 1992; parents; step-father Albert Stults; brothers G. Raymond and Howard Shirkey and step-sister Esther Patchet. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg. Funeral services will be Friday 11:00 a.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg where there will be an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
