Betty Peck

Betty J. Peck, 67 of Fremont, went home to be with her husband and daughter surrounded by her family on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the home of her daughter. She was born on March 4, 1945 in Fremont to Chester and Martha (Barney) Rhoads. Betty married Charles R. Peck on February 17, 1962 in Fremont and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1997. Betty was a homemaker and member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Clyde. She enjoyed Hank Williams, John Wayne movies and was an avid purse collector. Surviving are her children: Thomas (Shari) Peck, Penny Nye (Kenneth Williams), Bobbie (Doug) Smith, Peggy Griffin (Robert Hossler), Martha Peck (Chris Valdez, Sr.) and Matthew Peck (Carri Wolfe) all of Fremont, Charles (Susan) Peck, Jr. of Clyde and William Peck of Lorain; siblings: Robert (Pat) Rhoads and Ruth (Alfred) Floriana both of Fremont, Barb (Dennis) Myanatt of Shingle Springs, CA, Mary Fell, Susie (Homer) McCoy, Debbie McCoy all of Indiana; fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles R. Peck; daughter, Billie Martinez; brothers, Truman, Scott, Charles and Ricky Rhoads; sisters, Judy Rhoads and Patty Floriana. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery. Brother Dee Whaley will officiate. Contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.
