Oak Harbor resident, Kimberly Kay Baker, 54, died on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her home. She was born on April 29, 1958 in Fremont to Richard R. G. and Iva (Shiets) Baker. Kim was a 1975 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and had attended Terra Community College studying Graphic Design. She was a Dispatcher for the Fremont City Police Department for 30 years retiring in June 2011. Kim was the first person to retire from the department who worked solely as a dispatcher. Kim would also work the Sandusky County Fair Police Departments tent since the 1980's. She enjoyed photography and computer graphics. Kim loved to spend time with her family and friends. Kim is survived by her mother; Iva Baker of Fremont; sister; Kathie (Leonard) Pickering of Fairfield Glade, TN, niece; Kristie (Paul) Hess of Elkhart, IN and her nephew; Ryan Pickering also of Elkhart, IN. She was preceded in death by her father Richard R. G. Baker in 2012. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont from 4-8 PM. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fremont at 11 AM with Pastor Carl Kessler officiating. Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Asthma Association or to St. John's Lutheran Church, 212 N. Clover St., Fremont, OH 43420 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
