Carl F. Hahn, 88, of Fremont, died on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Valley View Health Care Center. He was born on October 25, 1923 in Monteagle, TN to Carl and Alberta (Metcalfe) Hahn. Carl graduated from Scottsburg High School in Scottsburg, IN and studied engineering at Los Angeles City College. He was a WWII Army Veteran. Carl was a Civil Engineer and the chief deputy for Sandusky County Engineers for many years, retiring in 1979. On May 23, 1945 he married Phyllis Roberts in Jeffersonville, IN and she survives in Fremont. Carl was a member of Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, the Fremont Lions Club, the Brainard and the Fremont Masonic Lodge. Also surviving are sons, Stephen (Charlene) of Akron and Kevin (Barb) of Findlay; five grandchildren: Paul and Jason both of Akron, Austin (Carrie) of Chicago, Wesley of Dublin, OH and Spencer of East Peoria, IL; 3 great-grandchildren and brother, Robert (Gerry) of Millersburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elsie Meadows; brothers, George, Kenneth and Charles. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. During the evening visitation the Fremont Masons will do a ceremony in honor of Carl. Services will be on Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Allan Brown officiating. Military rites will be performed by the American Legion & VFW. Contributions in Carl's memory may be made to Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, Valley View Health Care Center, Heartland Hospice or the Intensive Care Unit at Fremont Memorial Hospital.
