James Albert Mayle

James Albert Mayle, 80, of Fremont passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 02, 2012. He was born on February 18, 1932 in Fremont to Irvin and Florence (Darr) Mayle. James was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph High School and completed welding training in 1958 at Hobart Trade School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War earning a National Defense Medal. Jim worked as a foreman at Chemi-Trol, Peter Eckrich and then at Whirlpool Corp. retiring in 1997. On October 27, 1972 he married Ann Pinskey, the love of his life and she preceded him in death on April 21, 2000. Jim was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the SJCC Booster Club. He also was a member of the Moose and Eagles. Jim enjoyed spending time at the lake and staying at Mayleville, breakfast with his friends at Nobby's and most of all spending time with his grandsons, Nate, Nicholas and Kaden Mayle. Surviving is his son, Kirt (Marlo) Mayle; three grandsons; his twin brother, Jack (Mary) Mayle, Jean Wasserman, Janet Overmyer all of Fremont, Lou (Diane) Mayle of Holland, OH, Jane (Ken) Smith of Fremont and many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Dick Ross and sister-in-law, Ruthann (Tony) Ruggiero. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; siblings, Patricia Mayle, Tom Mayle and Joyce Ross; brothers-in-law, Don Wasserman and Jim Overmyer. Visitation will be on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
