Helena resident, Mary E. Brown, 85 died Saturday morning, December 8, 2012 at the Bethesda Care Center in Fremont. Born on December 29, 1926 in Fremont, she was the only child of Dorrell and Tracy (Mutchler) Brown. Mary graduated from Gibsonburg High School and will be remembered as a music teacher at the former Johnston Music in Fremont where she gave lessons on several instruments. She worked at the Helena Post Office and retired as Post Master after serving for over 25 years. Mary was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Helena, its Ladies of Shiloh and a member of the Helena Community Volunteer Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and baking. She was a second mother to her caregivers, Toni (Roger) Ohms of Helena and William (Jennie) P. Ridenour and babysitter to Austin Ridenour, whom she considered her grandson. Mary loved spending time with her extended family, going to horse shows and eating out at Red Lobster and Bob Evans. She is preceded in death by her parents and aunts Reeta Rolls and Carol Lacey. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 13, 2012, 1-3 p.m., at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 900 North St., Fremont, where funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Rev. Glenn Herman will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont. Contributions in Mary's name may be made to the Shiloh United Church in Helena.
