Rita M. Haley, 81, Gibsonburg died on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at St. Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon. She was born in Gibsonburg on December 13, 1931 to Celestine and Rebecca (Herman) Dolweck. She attended Gibsonburg High School and graduated in 1950. On June 16, 1956 she was joined in marriage with Thomas Haley and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2010. Rita worked in the office of National Gypsum Co., later at Ideal Bakery, and Randolph's Appliance. Rita also worked many years on the Board of Elections. She worked as a custodian at St. Michael's Parish for many years and assisted Tom with his wallpaper business. Rita was an active member of St. Michael's Altar Rosary Society and has served as President and Secretary. Rita enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, and most of all attending her grandchildren's activities. Surviving are her children Susan (Richard) Kaemming of Gibsonburg, Michael (Diane) of Manassas VA, Kathleen (Kent) Kirsch of Gibsonburg, Sharon (David) Miller of Perrysburg, and Eileen (William) Whetsel of Fostoria; siblings Marie Burkhart, Loyola Zeller, Marcella Kirwen, and Phyllis Reed; eleven grandchildren Nick (Lindy), Corey, TJ, Aisha, Vincent, Josh, Trent, Angie, Brody, Nicholas, and Taylor; and one great-granddaugther, Claire. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg where the Rosary will be said that evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Gibsonburg, on Monday, January 21, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church in Rita's memory.
