Terry J. Bennett, 67 of Fremont, died early Friday, January 18, 2013 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo surrounded by his family. He was born on March 9, 1945 in Connersville, IN to Joseph and Mary (Shepard) Bennett. Terry was a 1963 graduate of Clyde High School. On September 7, 1968 he married Juanita Dayringer in Clyde, OH and she survives. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Terry then went on to join the Ohio Army National Guard and served during the Persian Gulf War, totaling 31 years of service for our country. He was an electrician and construction supervisor in the National Guard, retiring in 1998. Terry was employed at the Carmuse Lime Plant in Millersville as electrical supervisor, retiring on June 1, 2009. He was a volunteer at the Lutheran Brotherhood, Boy Scouts, a member of the Clyde VFW, the Fremont American Legion, the Toledo HOG (Harley Owners Group) Chapter, Mad River HOG Chapter and also Bettsville Legion Riders. Terry was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Fremont. Also surviving are children, Joe (Lori) Bennett and Julie Bennett, both of Fremont; grandchildren, Brendyn and Kirstyn; sister, Connie Rohrer of Lancaster, OH and David (Marilyn) Bennett of Clyde. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Edward. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 212 N. Clover St., Fremont. Pastor Joseph Lees will officiate. Burial will be at Bakertown Cemetery in Clyde. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church, Make a Wish Foundation or to Odyssey Hospice in Terry's memory.
