Vernita A. Jump, 91, of Clyde and formerly of Fremont died early Monday, January 21, 2013 at Fremont Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on July 19, 1921 in Arguilla, TX to Francis and Audrey (Ferris) Sanford. Vernita was a graduate of Lima High School and on June 26, 1941 she married Paul Jump in Elyria, OH and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1997. She owned/operated the Holiday Inn Restaurant for nearly 20 years managing the GE and Heinz cafeterias also. She was a member of the Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church. Her hobby, pastime and life were her large family. She was also an avid sports fan. Surviving are children: Paul (Ruby) Jump Jr. of Smithfield, NC, June Eck of Homewood, IL, Anita Byers of Clyde, Thomas (Laura) Jump of Houston, TX, Gary (Mitzi) Jump of Grafton, OH and Michael (Sherri) Jump of Ingleside, IL; 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; siblings, Riley Sanford and Samuel Sanford both of St. Mary's, OH and Leonard Sanford of Ft. Myers, Fl. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings - Wayne Cook, A.J. Sanford, Betty Rockwood and Bella Gibbs. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at McGormley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Hospice of Memorial Hospital in Vernita's memory.
