Pearl E Zimmerman

Pearl Eliene Zimmerman, widow of George Clair Zimmerman and co-owner of Swint Reineck Company, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Elmwood Nursing Home, Green Springs, Ohio. Pearl E. Zimmerman was born on June 19, 1916 in North Baltimore, Ohio to Ethel Mae (Straley) and Floyd Leroy Slaughterbeck. She graduated from North Baltimore High School in 1934. She met G. Clair Zimmerman when he moved to North Baltimore to manage the Ulman's store there. On their first date Clair (as he was known) proposed and five weeks later they were married on June 29, 1936. They would have been married fifty years had Clair not passed away on August 3, 1985. Pearl and Clair were involved in the little theatre while living in North Baltimore. After Clair passed, Pearl married Dr. Edward P. Willey, D.D.S. who is also deceased. Pearl was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Women of the Moose, Eastern Stars and Fremont Community Theatre. Pearl is survived by daughter, Claire Elaine Zimmerman, sons; James Edward (Rosemarie), Thomas William (Mary), and Gary Lee (Ann) Zimmerman all of Fremont. Grandchildren; Paula S. Renfro (Gary Stalnker), Clyde, Jodi E. (Timothy, Sr.) Adams, Marblehead, Donielle C. (Stephen) Yates, Clyde, Keith A. (Sue) Zimmerman, Fremont, Kristi L. (Todd) Ross, Westerville, Oh., Aaron B. (Amanda) Zimmerman, Upper Arlington, Oh., Kerri A. (Nick) Haynes, Beavercreek, Oh., Michael P. (May) Zimmerman, Columbus, Oh. Great grandchildren; Alana A. (Matthew) Muzik, Green Springs, Oh., Scott A. Renfro, Green Springs, Oh., Rebecca J. Adams, Clyde, Oh., Timothy M. Adams Jr., Marblehead, Oh., Ashton L. and Braedon T. Ross, Westerville, Oh., Maximus A., Alexander C., and Ella Elizabeth Pearl Yates, Clyde, Oh., Zachery T. and Alivia A. Haynes, Beavercreek, Oh., Clayton R. and Leo M. Zimmerman, Upper Arlington, Oh. Grandchildren; Oliver Zimmerman, Dallas, TX, Diana (Rene) Shoukier and Daniel (wife) Shoukier, Germany. Great grandchildren; Laura, Allison and Victoria Shoukier, Germany; great-great grandchildren, Claudia J. and Delilah J. Muzik of Green Springs, OH; three nephews and two nieces. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, sisters and brothers-in-law Jenny Mae (Larry) Sentman, Dora Leona (Ray D. Sr.) and niece Jackie Moore. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 3 - 7 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont. Services will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with 1 hour of visitation prior to the service. Dr. William J. McConnell will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 120 S. Park Ave., Fremont, Ohio 43420 or the Fremont Community Theatre, P.O. Box 24, Fremont, Ohio 43420.
