Lifelong Gibsonburg resident, Dorothy J. Bradner, 85 died in the presence of her family early Monday morning, January 28, 2013 at Otterbein Portage Valley, Pemberville. Born in Gibsonburg on December 2, 1927, she was a daughter of the now deceased Clarence and Ada (Charlton) Harpel. Dorothy graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1945 and married L. Gilbert Bradner in Gibsonburg on September 1, 1946. Gil died in 1997. Dorothy worked as a secretary at the former Pfizer Lime, Inc. in Gibsonburg, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg and loved to fish and take casino bus trips. She also was a former league bowler at Woodville Lanes. Dorothy is survived by sons Jim (Marsha) of Manistee, MI and John (Emilie) of Hamilton, OH; grandchildren Sheryl, Jennifer, Sara and James; great grandchildren Zachary, Nathan and Jessica; and siblings Virginia Hilt, Helen Egbert and Howard Harpel all of Gibsonburg. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings Ruth Kerr and Robert Harpel. Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 1, 2013, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg where services will be Saturday, February 2, 10:00 a.m. Rev. Max Ulderich will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove.
