Albert C. "Al" Wright Jr., 89 of Fremont, died early Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Fremont Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on March 12, 1923 in Mansfield, OH to Albert Sr. and Sylvia (Mapes) Wright. Al was a 1941 graduate of Clyde High School and the Ohio State University with a Business Degree. During WWII, Al served in the U S Army in Europe where he was a tank commander under General Patton involved in Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. On December 10, 1949 he married Ruth "Boo" Hufford at Grace Lutheran Church and she survives. Al was the owner of Wright Motors for a number of years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Fremont Country Club, Eagles, Moose, VFW and the Clyde Masonic Lodge. What a loving family man he was. His family was the most important thing to Al. Surviving in addition to his wife, are children: Debra (Michael) Ventura of Fremont, Regina (Sam) Pryce of Elmore and Jack (Jeanie) Wright of Clyde; grandchildren: Casey Hoch, Erica Baldino, Alison Roach and Amber Bolton; great grandchildren: Erin Bolton and Briley Roach; and his sister, Maxine Colvin of Fremont. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margie Mergle. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be held privately for the family on Monday, February 18, 2013. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with military rites by the VFW and American Legion. Memorials in Al's memory may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 705 W. State Street, Fremont .
