Sharon Dee Otermat, 75, of Whitehouse and formerly of Fremont, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Countryside Continuing Care Center, surrounded by her family. She was born in Fremont on November 6, 1937 to Harold and Ruth (Snow) Zucker. Sharon graduated from Ross High School in 1955 and attended the New York School of Interior Design where she received an interior design award in 1966. Sharon went on to pursue a career in interior and yacht design. Surviving are siblings; Karen Guernsey of Whitehouse and Jeff Zucker (Eileen Martin) of Clyde, nieces; Jennifer (Andy) Hershey, Julia Zucker, Lisa Baker, Kelly Zachel and Susan (Jeff) Morrow, nephew; David (Elaine) Guernsey and former sister-in-law, Mary Zucker. She was especially close to her great niece Emma Hershey and great nephews, Grant and Sam Hershey. She is also survived by many close friends that were a big part of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant nephew. Visitation will be held at the Herman-Kinn- Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Pastor William McConnell from First Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member, will officiate services following visitation at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sharon's memory to Sandusky County Humane Society or to Fremont Ross Music Boosters.
