Robert A. Lewis, 83 of Lindsey, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013 surrounded by his family at Stein Hospice, Sandusky. He was born on April 16, 1929 in Dennison, ILL to Vern & Mary (Eldridge) Lewis. Robert served in the US Army during the Korean War, and on January 8, 1955 he married Helen L. Strable in Paulding, OH and she preceded him in death on December 12, 1992. Robert had worked for 45 years as a Pipefitter for Automatic Sprinkler Corp., working mostly out of the Toledo office, he also was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Sprinkler Union Local #669 of Columbia, Maryland and for the past 25 years while he was working he was the superintendent for the Toledo area and he was a member of the United Assoc. of Pipefitters and Plumbers, and a former member of the Fremont Moose Lodge and the Fremont Eagles. Surviving are his children; Theodore (Patricia) Lewis of Lindsey, Anthony (Marcia) Lewis of Cridersville, OH, Toby (Debra) Lewis of Fremont, Tracy (Virginia) Lewis of Lindsey and Troy (Stephanie) Lewis of Fremont, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, siblings; Richard (Goldie) Lewis of Albuquerque, NM, Kathleen Clough of Terre Haute, IN, Norma Baugh of Paris, ILL. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 37 years, daughter; Tamara Ann Lewis in 1975, his brother; John Lewis, and his sister; Rosemary Hull. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 4-8 PM at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at Lindsey Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion and the VFW Posts. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to St. Ann Catholic Church or to Stein Hospice.
