David C. Pickard, 84 of Fremont, died early Tuesday, March 05, 2013 at his home. He was born on October 27, 1928 in Fremont to Clesson and Barbara (Smith) Pickard. David was a 1946 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. On August 14, 1948 he married Hazel Franks in Fostoria and she survives. David worked in various tool & die shops. He was a die maker at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky retiring in 1988, the Christy Company Hospital Marketing of Fremont and owner of Line Tool & Die. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church and the Brainard Mason Lodge #0336. David was manager of Chuck Cleaners Little League, a member of the Mud Creek Pool League. He loved his marsh and duck hunting. David enjoyed golf and bowling leagues. His love was for his family. Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, William D. "Bill" (Pamela Branco) Pickard and Barbara Ann (Jerry) Miller both of Fremont; 4 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a brother Paul H. Pickard of Greenwood, CO and sister-in-law Amy Carper of Marysville, OH also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held privately for the family. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
