W. Perry Kuehne passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 22, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer. Perry was born on July 15, 1927, in Canandaigua, New York to William and Zoe Kuehne of Rushville, New York. Perry graduated from Middlesex Valley Central School, in Rushville, New York in 1945 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduation. He completed boot camp at Sampson, New York and attended technical training at Norman, Oklahoma, where he qualified as an aircraft instrument mechanic. Perry was then stationed at NAS Quonset, Rhode Island. He served four years in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1949. After his military service, Perry farmed and maintained vineyards in and around Rushville, New York until 1972. He then worked as a service manager for various farm equipment dealerships in New York, Texas, and Ohio, including the Streaker Tractor Dealership in Fremont. Perry loved to travel within the United States, especially in the western states, and has visited all the states with the exception of Alaska. In retirement, he loved woodworking, gardening, genealogy, and World War II history. Perry leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Gladys Brown Kuehne, and his beloved dog Susie, as well as five children and their families: Robert and his wife Shirley, Arthur and his wife Linda, Patricia and her husband Jim, Kristine, Jonathan and his wife Julie. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as a brother David of Rushville, New York. Please join the family for a celebration of Perry's life on April 6, 2013 from 2pm-4pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 231 S. Maple Street, Lindsey, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, 430 S. Main Street, Clyde, Ohio, 43410.
