Richard W. "Rich" May, 77, of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Fremont Memorial Hospital. He was born in Clyde, Ohio on June 17, 1935 to Glendon and Doris (Stout) May. Rich attended Old Fort schools. In 1958, he enlisted in the National Guard and was stationed in Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Fort Knox, Kentucky. Rich retired from farming in 1996. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Rich also enjoyed spending time with his friends who might just stop by for a visit. In 1956, Rich married Ellen Borer at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont. She survives. Also surviving are children; Sheryl (Steve) Neiling of Fremont, Lisa Skulina of Strongsville and Rick (Jenny) May of Dallas, GA and by his sister Betty DeCicco of Ledgewood, NJ and 6 grandchildren, Amanda & Tyler Skulina, Jacob & Christian Neiling, Bayley and Jill May. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn Appelbaum. Visitation will be on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor James Avers officiating. Burial will follow at McGormley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association in Rich's memory. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of the Sandusky County Home Health for their special care during Rich's illness.
