Betty M. Zahn, 92 of Fremont, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at Valley View Healthcare Center in Fremont. Betty was born on August 16, 1920 in Sandusky to Harry and Dorthea (Reinke) Lynn. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1940. On June 6, 1942, Betty married Robert D. Zahn. Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jadlynne & Stan Moyer of Fremont; granddaughter, Kristine (Will) Halsey of North Olmstead; great grandson, Ryan Halsey; sister, Mary Armstrong of Sandusky; sister-in-law, Evelyn Lynn of Sandusky and many nieces and nephews. She was also loved and known as "Grandma Betty" to her special boys; Jackson, Lukas, Hudson & Cooper Moyer of Bellevue and Ethan Longoria of Fremont. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Erma Kuldau, Charlotte Lortcher & Joyce Cullen; brothers, Karl "Jack" Lynn and Walter Lynn; step mother, Juanita Lynn and special companion, Donald Molyet. As a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Fremont, Betty held various positions on church council and taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She was also a past member and volunteer of Fremont Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, past member of Garden Clubs and an active volunteer reader at Atkinson Elementary School for many years. Betty was an avid college football fan, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes, enjoying the opportunity to attend all home games for over 10 years. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1187 County Road 128, Fremont, from 9-11a.m. where a memorial service will be held at 11:00a.m. Pastor Robert Young will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory may be made to Faith Lutheran Church General Fund or Music Fund, 1187 County Road 128, Fremont or the Humane Society of Sandusky County, 2520 Port Clinton Road, Fremont.
