Helen B. Ameling, 97, of Gibsonburg, died at her home, Friday, May 17, 2013. She was born in Toledo on November 1, 1915, to Lester and Mary (Bahnsen) Hudson. Helen was a graduate of Genoa High School. On July 3, 1937, she married George Ameling in Genoa, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1994. She was an owner and operator of Charlyn Gift Shop in the 50's and early 60's with Charlotte Fry in Gibsonburg, she enjoyed cooking, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Surviving, are children; Phillip Ameling of Helena, and, Jean Todd of Gibsonburg, 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, infant son Terry Hudson Ameling, grandson; Tim Ameling, and great-grandchildren; Amber and Ashley Ameling. Visitation will be held at Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg, Monday, May 20, 2013, from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg, Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 10:30am, with additional visitation one hour prior to the service, with Pastor Blair Miller officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery. Memorials in Helen's memory may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
