Gerardo "Jerry" Ray Garcia, 50, of Fremont, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. Jerry was born in Fremont on May 16, 1963 to Mario, Sr. and Elena (Rodriguez) Garcia. After graduating from Gibsonburg High School in 1981, Jerry went to work for Green Bay Packaging and remained there up until his death. Jerry married Ann (Stevenson) on May 28, 1983 at St. Michael's Church in Gibsonburg; she survives. Also surviving are his mother of Lindsey; children, Tiffany (Kenneth Allen Jr.) Garcia of Louisville, KY, Jeremy Ray Garcia of Fort Myers, FL and Jordan Garcia of Fremont; grandchild, Brayson; siblings, Evilia Sandoval of Fremont and Mario (Lois) Garcia Jr. of Oak Harbor. He is preceded in death by his father who passed away April 29, 2013. Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed watching his children's athletic activities, and playing golf. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Jerry was also the "Cornhole Champion". Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gibsonburg. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Fr. Ted Miller will officiate.
