Craig Bell, 64, of Perrysburg, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born on August 6, 1948 in Perrysburg to Howard and Virginia (Chapman) Bell. Craig was a 1966 graduate of Gibsonburg High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Bowling Green State University. After graduation he taught physical education and coached in the Oneida, NY school system. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam war, stationed in Germany. On December 13, 1969 he married Tanya Fork in Gibsonburg, Ohio and she survives. Craig was in the insurance industry for thirty-eight years. He was a past principal of Kaminski, Mens, Bell and Associates retiring in 2013 from Savage McVicker Insurance, Inc. He was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg. Craig had a lifelong love of sports; playing, watching and coaching. He loved the written and spoken word, learning and teaching, and bantering with friends in good humor. Cherished husband, father, grandfather, though his arms are no longer around us, we know he will always be with us. Surviving are children: Nicholas of Toledo, Andrea (Gus) Schowengerdt of DeWitt, MI and Daniel of Perrysburg; granddaughter, Annabelle; siblings, Coleen (Gary) Jividen of Coopersburg, PA and Ron (Jodi) of Sylvania. He is preceded in death by his parents. Craig and Tanya want to thank Tim Kasunic, MD, Mary Ann, RN and all the extraordinary individuals at Hickman Cancer Center for what they do best. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg, 319 W. Madison St. Funeral services will be held on Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, 500 S. Brentwood St., Gibsonburg at 10 a.m. with one hour of visitation at church prior to the service. Burial with military rites will be at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Contributions in Craig's memory may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg, Zoar Lutheran Church, Perrysburg or the Toledo Area Humane Society.
