Evelyn Conrad, 89 of Helena passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. She was born on October 2, 1923 in Helena to Archie & Blanch (Wynn) Halfhill. Evelyn attended Helena & Gibsonburg Schools and in 1944 she married Charles Conrad. She was active in the Helena Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary, enjoyed growing flowers, crocheting, playing bingo and baking. Evelyn and her husband Charles farmed their entire lives in Helena. She was a homemaker and a farmer. Evelyn loved spending time working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her children; Margaret (Ron) Lechner of FL, Beverly (Tom) Ayres of Helena, Donna (Chris) Nieset of Helena, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother; Bill (Ginger) Halfhill and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2002, children, Charles, John & Donald, along with her siblings; Bob, Hank, Maxine, Virginia, Marthalene, Betty and Helen. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM with services beginning at 12:00 noon with Mark Conley officiating. Burial will follow at Metzger Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gibsonburg American Legion Post, Ladies' Auxiliary.
