Barbara Nieset, 66, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Countryside Continuing Care Center, Fremont. She was born on February 4, 1947 to John Sr. and Viola (Grahl) Liptok, in Sandusky, OH. Barbara graduated from Margaretta High School in 1965, and attended Bowling Green State University, where she earned her BS in Early Childhood Education. She enjoyed being around children, was a teacher at Perkins as well as the Child Development Center at Terra, and was a homemaker. Barbara married Robert Nieset at Trinity Lutheran Church in Venice, OH, on August 7, 1971. Besides teaching, Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed genealogy and gardening. Barbara was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Right to Life, was a 4-H leader, Sunday school teacher, and assisted with Vacation Bible School. Barbara is survived by her husband, Robert, children; Julie (George) Nieset-Hardebeck, of Urbana, IL, Douglas (Michele) Nieset, of White Lake, MI, Philip Nieset, of Upper Sandusky, OH, Emily (Peter) Nieset-Keen, of Ann Arbor, MI, mother; Viola Liptok, of Venice, OH, siblings; Jack (Ruth) Liptok, of Elyria, OH, Shirley (Tom) Sigman, of North Olmsted, OH, and grandchildren; Kayli, Jacob, Nicholas, Avery, Emersyn Nieset, and Novah Hardebeck, Aunt, Inez Renner, of Sandusky, OH. She is preceded in death by her father, John Liptok Sr., and daughter, Catherine Nieset. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation services, Fremont, from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church at 10:30am, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at church. Pastor Jim Avers will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 705 W. State Street, Fremont, or Sandusky County Cancer Care Fund.
