Lucille Mary Emma Nehls, 88, previously of Lindsey died on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Valley View Health Care Center. She was born on November 29, 1924 in Fremont to Clarence and Bertha (Taulker) Shively. She was a 1942 Gibsonburg High School graduate. In 1943 she married Edwin Nehls at Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg, and he preceded her in death on February 2, 1992. Lucille was a caring home maker. She liked to bake, garden and embroider. Lucille enjoyed cats of all types. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the Friendly Neighbors Club. Lucille and Edwin were the church custodians for over 25 years, and she was also active in several other church activities. Surviving are children, Daryl Nehls of Gibsonburg, Wilbur Nehls of Gibsonburg, Eugene (Shirley) Nehls of Lindsey, William (Judy) Nehls and Karen (Jeff) Fleming both of Gibsonburg; grandchildren, Christopher (Meredith Heartley) Nehls, Carrie (Tim) Kreilick, Shawn (Lavon) Nehls, Scott (Rachel Turner) Nehls, Susan (Ray) Krupitzer, Sheri (Christopher) Ripley, Steve (Emily) Nehls, Josh (Ariana) Nehls, Kyle Nehls, Rachel (Kelly) Cook and Mallory (Tom) Brown and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Emery Shively and Ervin Shively both of Gibsonburg and Mildred Schneider. Visitation will be held at Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg, Friday, September 6, 2013 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm Funeral services will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hessville, Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 10:30am, with additional visitation one hour prior to the service, with Pastor Dennis Wansitler officiating. Burial will follow at North Union Cemetery. Memorials in Lucille's memory may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church Organ Fund, to Hospice of Memorial Hospital or to the American Diabetes Association.
