Abram "Abe" Torres, 81 of Gibsonburg, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Parkview Care Center in Fremont. Abe was born on May 1, 1932 in San Diego, TX to Miguel and Hortencia (Chapa) Torres. On October 3, 1953, Abe married Frances (Melchor) at St. Michael's Church in Gibsonburg. He worked for Ohio Lime in Woodville, retiring in 1994. He was a member of St. Michael's Church and enjoyed fishing, mechanics and horses. Surviving are children; John Torres of Iowa, Virginia (Santos) Bocanegra, Sylvia Torres, Anita "Penny" Saucedo, Abram "Beatle" (Angie) Torres Jr., all of Fremont and Jaime (Roxie) Torres of Gibsonburg. Also surviving are siblings; Isaac, Miguel, Manuel, Martin, Norma, Gloria & Ruth; 22 grandchildren & 28 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings; Joel & Mary. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Ted Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio or to the care of the family.
