Matthew David "Matt" Miller, 47, of Port Clinton passed away Friday morning, October 11, 2013 at St. Vincent's Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. Born on February 6, 1966 in Fremont, Matt was a son to Roger and Catherine (Babione) Miller. Matt graduated from Fremont Ross Vanguard Vocational in 1984 and began his working career at Whirlpool in Clyde. Later after relocating, he worked for Lincoln Electric in Cleveland for nearly 15 years until the onset of his illness. Matt was known for his love of animals and music as he played guitar for several area bands. He was very mechanically inclined and generous with his time helping family and friends. Most recently he also began starting up his own auto garage. Matt is survived by his parents of Fremont; children Hillary Miller of Sandusky, and Ryan and Kyle Miller of Olmsted Falls, OH; grandson Brixon; siblings Angela (Jerry) Molyet of Fremont, Laura (Chris) Bliss of Maumee and Daniel (Vicki) Miller of Swanton, OH; and nieces and nephews Miranda, Jessica, Katerina, Zachary, and Marshal. Preceding Matt in death is a brother, Jeremey David Miller; grandparents Oscar Babione, Anna Wasserman, Wilbur and Gertrude Miller; and step grandfather, Ervin Wasserman. Family and friends will be welcome at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont on Tuesday, October 15, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont, Wednesday, October 16, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Michael Zacharias will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont. Contributions in Matt's memory may be made to The Humane Society.
