Richard E. "Dick" Henderson, 87, of Fremont, passed away at Elmwood at the Springs on October 16, 2013. Richard was born in Akron on January 20, 1926 to Walter and Dorothy L. (King) Henderson. Richard attended the Pittsburg Institute of Art in Pittsburg studying art and business. He was a member of Grace Community Church and the Republican Party. He is also a former member of the Moose, Elks and Eagles. Richard married Rose Mary Briggs and together they had five children, they were later divorced. He was married to Millie Tucker and on March 7, 1993 he married Elma Rigby in Fremont and she survives. He was a contractor/exterminator/painter then later became an operations engineer in Mesa, AZ, retiring in 1988. Richard is survived by his children; Diane Grabman of Speedway, IN, Richard (Phyllis) Henderson II of Anchorage, AK, Timothy (Judi) Henderson of Green Springs, Mary Zucker of Fremont & Kimberly (Jody) Royster of Port Clinton; step-children, George (Hazel) Weber of Kissimmee, Florida, Dorothy (Tom) Jones of Sherwood, OH, Lois (Dave) Costa of Auburn, IN, Harold (Bonnie) Weber of Wauseon, OH and Mary Lou (Chuck) Hagen of Holgate, OH; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; siblings, John G. (Vi) Henderson of Phoenix, AZ, and George H. (Candice) Henderson of Ada. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Walter R. Henderson, Jr. Services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Community Church in Fremont. Pastor Kevin Pinkerton will officiate. Memorials may be made to Grace Community Church, Fremont, Memorial Hospital Foundation or to Elmwood at the Springs in Dicks' memory.
