Lynn Marie (Boff) Mintz, 54 of Gibsonburg passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the home of her father. She was born on March 15, 1959 in Fostoria, OH to Edwin and Faith (Needles) Boff. Lynn was a 1977 graduate of Lakota High School and received a Medical-Nursing degree from the Bowling Green University School of Nursing. She worked in her profession for several area facilities including as an LPN at Fremont Memorial Hospital, a surgical assistant at the Fremont Eye Center and the Tiffin Eye Center with Dr. Wade Young, and mostly recently with OptiVue in Oregon and the Gibsonburg Pharmacy. Lynn was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gibsonburg. She was a former member of the Ohio Paint Horse Association and the Tri-State Rodeo Association and the Bradner American Legion Auxiliary. Lynn enjoyed horse showmanship, outdoor activities, traveling, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycle and spending time with friends. She fought cancer for years and strongly and avidly supported programs aimed at finding a cure. Surviving are her father, Ed and stepmother, Lindie; son Craigory Scott (Ashley) Mintz of Gibsonburg; former husband, Les (Cathi Smith) Mintz; one granddaughter, one step-grandson all of Gibsonburg; and special friend, Ron Youngs of Bradner. She is preceded in death by her mother. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 1-6 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. There will be one hour of visitation on Monday, October 28th from 4-5 p.m. with services at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Brenda Hurley-Shank officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice of Sandusky or to the Ovarian Cancer Connection in Lynn's memory.
