Edward John Marok, of Gibsonburg and formerly of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at his home. He was born in Toledo, OH, on July 14, 1922. Edward graduated from Woodward High School in 1940, and then served in the Army during WWII in Germany, Belgium, and France. He married Joanne Parish on August 9, 1952 in Angola, Indiana, and she survives. Edward was employed at the former Toledo Beaver Tools for over 30 years, and later worked as a Quality Control Supervisor at Sharon Manufacturing in Temperance, MI, where he retired in 1987. He loved to bowl in his younger years he was an avid bowler at Mercury Lanes. Edward was a family man, and he was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband. In addition to his wife, Joanne, Edward is survived by his children; Michael Marok of Johns Creek, GA, Karen Mitchell (Jeff Lemke) of Gibsonburg, OH, and Jeffrey Marok of Swanton, OH, and grandchildren; Brett (Andi) Marok, Chad Marok, Nicholas Ward and Morgan Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Lois Gralak and Joan Miller, and son-in-law, Tom Mitchell. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg, from 11am-2pm. A funeral service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Blair Miller officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery with military rites performed by the Gibsonburg American Legion. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
